Policies, written like a person wrote them

Nothing at Atelier Marvelle is baked in advance. When you place an order you choose a bake date from the calendar at checkout, and only the dates Amitha can actually bake are offered. The standard lead time is 2 days; sourdough needs three days, and bespoke or tiered work needs at least seven. Orders can be placed up to 45 days ahead.

The studio is closed on Mondays — the starter rests — so no bake dates are offered for a Monday.

Pickup is free, from Atelier Marvelle Studio, Indiranagar, Bengaluru 560038. Pickups are between 10am and 6pm. Ring the bell twice — the mixer is loud.

You will receive a message when your order is boxed. Please collect on your chosen date: the studio has no cold storage for held orders, and uncollected perishable items cannot be re-baked or refunded after the end of the following day.

• Delivery is ₹120 per order, and free on orders over ₹2,500.
• We currently deliver to these pincodes: 560038, 560008, 560071, 560075, 560017, 560001. If yours is not listed, write to us — we can sometimes arrange it.
• Deliveries go out the same morning the order is baked, inside the window you chose at checkout — morning (9am – 12pm), afternoon (12pm – 4pm) or evening (4pm – 7pm). You will get a message with the rider's details when it leaves the studio.
• Deliveries are made by a third-party rider service. Once an order leaves the studio we can track it for you but we do not control it.

Some items travel and some do not. Shelf-stable things — brownies, shortbread, chocolate bars, gifting boxes — can be couriered across India, dispatched within 2 working days of the bake and typically arriving in 2 – 5 working days depending on the zone.

Anything with fresh cream, custard or fresh fruit is not couriered at all, and croissants and madeleines are pickup or local delivery only. A croissant does not survive a courier, and we would rather say so than take the order.

Tell us within 24 hours of receiving the order, with a photograph. If a bake left the studio damaged, incomplete or not as described, we will remake it on the next available bake date or refund it in full — your choice. See cancellations & refunds.

Every order is paid in full at checkout, through PayU. That payment is what reserves your bake date and buys the ingredients for it — flour, cultured butter and cream are ordered against the day's bake list and cannot be returned to the shelf.

• More than 48 hours before your bake date: cancel for a full refund, no questions.
• 24 to 48 hours before: 50% refund, or full credit against a future order, whichever you prefer. Ingredients have usually been bought by then.
• Less than 24 hours before, or after baking has begun: no refund is possible, because the item exists and cannot be sold to anyone else. You are welcome to send someone else to collect it.

To cancel, reply to your order confirmation or write to hello@ateliermarvelle.com with your order number. The timestamp of your message is what counts.

Drops are a single bake in a fixed quantity, and the window closes so the exact number can be made. Drop orders can be cancelled for a full refund until the ordering window closes. After that they cannot be cancelled, because your box is already counted into the bake.

• A bespoke order is confirmed when it is paid in full and a date is held for you.
• Cancel more than 7 days before the event date for a full refund.
• Between 7 and 3 days before, 50% is refundable — design work, sourcing and the reserved bake day have already been spent.
• Inside 3 days, the order is not refundable.
• Design changes are free until 7 days before the event date, after which the design is locked and sourcing has begun.

• Seats are limited to six, so a cancelled seat is usually an empty bench.
• Cancel more than 7 days before the class for a full refund.
• Between 7 and 2 days before, you may transfer your seat to another person or to the next available date at no cost, but the fee is not refundable.
• Inside 48 hours, or for a no-show, the fee is not refundable.
• If Amitha has to cancel or reschedule a class for any reason, you get a full refund or a seat on the next date — your choice, always.

Approved refunds are made to the original payment method through PayU. We initiate the refund within 2 working days of approving it; the money typically reaches your account in 5 to 7 working days, depending on your bank or card issuer. We do not refund by cash, UPI transfer to a different account, or store voucher unless you specifically ask for credit instead.

Delivery charges are refunded only when the order is cancelled before it is dispatched, or when the fault is ours.

Food is perishable, so nothing can be returned once it has been collected or delivered. We cannot refund an order because a bake tastes different from expectation — sourdough is sour, single-origin chocolate is fruity, and our cakes are less sweet than most. Every product page describes what the thing actually is, and we would much rather answer a question before you order than after.

Allergen information is listed on every product. The studio handles wheat, dairy, egg and nuts on the same bench, so we cannot guarantee any item is free of traces of them.

• Your name, email address, phone number and delivery address — needed to bake, box and deliver the order, and to reach you if something changes.
• Your order history and chosen bake dates — so we can answer questions about a past order and plan capacity.
• Your email address, if you subscribe to the weekly bake list. That is a separate, optional consent, and it is not implied by placing an order.
• Basic, aggregate traffic data about how the site is used. We do not run advertising trackers or sell audience data.

Card numbers, UPI IDs, net-banking credentials and wallet details are entered on PayU's hosted, PCI-DSS-compliant payment page. Atelier Marvelle never sees, receives or stores them. All we get back is a transaction reference, an amount, and whether it succeeded.

• PayU — payment processing, as our payment gateway.
• Supabase — the database that stores orders and customer records.
• Vercel — hosting for this website.
• A third-party rider or courier service — given only the name, address and phone number needed to complete a delivery.

We do not sell, rent or trade your details to anyone, for any purpose, ever.

Order records — the invoice, the amount and the transaction reference — are kept for 8 financial years, which is what Indian tax and GST record rules require of us. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, which you can do from the link in any email. You may ask us to correct or delete your personal details at any time by writing to hello@ateliermarvelle.com; we will do it within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain a transaction record.

The site uses a small number of functional cookies and local browser storage — enough to remember what is in your basket and to keep you signed in through checkout. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are set.

This site is operated by Atelier Marvelle, a baking studio at Atelier Marvelle Studio, Indiranagar, Bengaluru 560038, founded and run by Amitha. Our FSSAI licence number and, where applicable, our GSTIN are printed on every invoice and are available on request — write to hello@ateliermarvelle.com and we will send them the same day.

• All prices are in Indian Rupees and include applicable taxes unless a product page says otherwise.
• Placing an order is an offer; the order is accepted when payment succeeds and you receive a confirmation with an order number.
• If we cannot fulfil an accepted order — an ingredient fails, the oven fails, Amitha is ill — we will tell you as early as we can and refund you in full.
• Photographs are of real bakes from this studio. Handmade items vary a little from one bake to the next; that variation is not a defect.
• We may correct an obvious pricing error before baking begins, and will always contact you first and offer a full refund.

• Give us an accurate address and a phone number that will be answered on the delivery day. A failed delivery caused by a wrong address or an unreachable number is not refundable.
• Tell us about allergies before you order, not after.
• Store what you receive as described on the product page. We cannot be responsible for an item left out of the fridge.

Workshops are held at the studio unless stated otherwise. Attendees must be 14 or older; anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult, because there are hot ovens and sharp knives in the room. Recipes and written materials shared in a class are for your personal use and remain the intellectual property of Atelier Marvelle.

The text, photography and design on this site belong to Atelier Marvelle. Please do not reuse them commercially without asking. Ask us — the answer is often yes.

Our liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, or any other law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Every message is read by Amitha or by someone standing next to her. If something has gone wrong with an order, the fastest route is WhatsApp with your order number.
